NFT & Purchase Terms

These terms govern the purchase, minting, and ownership of digital assets in the Rift Wars ecosystem, operated by Meta Machina LLC. By purchasing or minting any digital asset, you agree to these terms in addition to our Terms of Service. You must be 18 years or older to make any purchase.

1. Genesis Card Packs

Genesis Packs contain 7 NFT cards minted on the blockchain. There is a maximum supply of 2,000,000 Genesis Packs (14,000,000 total cards). Once all packs are minted, no more will be created.

  • Price: 300 M-Credz per pack. Both M-Credz and crypto payment methods draw from the same supply.
  • Contents: Slots 1-5: Common (guaranteed). Slot 6: Rare (guaranteed). Slot 7 (Wild Slot): 55% Rare, 40% Epic, 4.5% Legendary, 0.5% God Tier.
  • On-chain: Cards are minted as compressed NFTs (cNFTs) on the Solana blockchain using the Metaplex Bubblegum standard.
  • Art storage: Card art is uploaded to Arweave via Irys for permanent, decentralized storage.

2. What You Own

When you mint or purchase an NFT card, you own the on-chain token. This grants you:

  • The right to use the card in Rift Wars gameplay
  • The right to display the card art for personal, non-commercial purposes (e.g., social media profile pictures, personal collections)
  • The right to sell, trade, or transfer the NFT on authorized secondary markets

Meta Machina LLC retains all underlying intellectual property rights to the card art, character designs, names, lore, and game content. You may not use the art for commercial purposes (merchandise, products, advertising) without written permission. You may not claim authorship of the art or misrepresent your relationship with Meta Machina™.

3. Animated Hero Portraits

Animated Hero Portraits are premium NFTs featuring living, animated versions of hero art.

  • Price: $50.00 USD each. Limited availability.
  • Process: This is a custom service. Portraits are animated using AI tools, quality-reviewed, then minted and delivered to the buyer's wallet and in-game vault. There is a queue, delivery is not instant.
  • Use: Purely cosmetic. Usable as your in-game hero portrait and profile display. No gameplay advantage.
  • Ownership: You own the NFT. Same IP terms as card NFTs above: personal use licensed, commercial rights retained by Meta Machina LLC.

4. M-Credz (In-Game Currency)

M-Credz is the in-game utility currency of Rift Wars. M-Credz are:

  • Not a security and not an investment vehicle
  • Not designed for speculation — the peg is fixed, there is no price appreciation mechanism
  • Soulbound when launched on-chain — non-transferable between players, cannot be listed on DEXs or traded peer-to-peer
  • Elastic supply — minted on demand, burned on spend, to prevent hoarding
  • Blockchain: Chain pending (not yet launched on-chain). Currently in-game only during beta.

5. Battle Pass

Battle Pass subscriptions unlock enhanced earning (uncapped M-Credz), bonus packs, and cosmetic rewards. Battle Pass purchases are non-refundable. Battle Pass benefits apply for the duration of the active season.

6. Secondary Market & Royalties

All NFT card trades on secondary markets carry an immutable 1% creator royalty hardcoded into the smart contract, payable to the Meta Machina LLC treasury. This royalty is non-negotiable and applies to all secondary sales regardless of marketplace.

7. Ante System (Future)

A future Ante system will allow players to stake cards of the same rarity in competitive matches. The winner takes the staked cards. Ante matches are entirely optional and involve risk of losing your NFT cards. By participating in Ante matches, you accept full responsibility for any cards lost. Further terms will be published when this feature launches.

8. Card Burning

Players may burn duplicate Common and Rare cards to receive M-Credz. Burning is permanent and irreversible — the NFT is destroyed on-chain. Burn values are set by the game and may be adjusted.

9. Refund Policy

All sales are final. No refunds. This applies to:

  • Genesis Pack mints
  • M-Credz purchases
  • Battle Pass subscriptions
  • Animated Portrait commissions
  • Any other digital goods or services

Blockchain transactions are irreversible by design. We cannot reverse, cancel, or modify completed on-chain transactions.

10. Risk Acknowledgment

By purchasing digital assets, you acknowledge:

  • NFTs and digital assets have no guaranteed monetary value on secondary markets
  • Blockchain technology involves inherent risks including smart contract bugs, network congestion, and wallet security
  • You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet and private keys
  • Game balance changes may affect the in-game utility of specific cards
  • We are not responsible for losses due to user error, phishing, wallet compromise, or third-party marketplace issues

11. Service Discontinuation

If Rift Wars ceases operations, players retain ownership of their NFTs on the blockchain. Card art stored on Arweave is permanent and decentralized — it persists independently of our servers at the discretion of the Arweave network. On-chain token ownership is immutable regardless of game server status. We make no guarantees about the continued availability of game servers, in-game functionality, or the ongoing utility of NFTs within the game.
